Adam was so obsessed with knowing what was good, healthy, beautiful, and wise that it led to the fall of mankind. Adam walked innocently with God in the garden. His nakedness was never a thought until he ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. We cannot know good without simultaneously learning evil. Adam desired to be like God forgetting that he was already made in God’s image and likeness. When Adam ate from the tree he immediately KNEW he was naked, he covered HIMSELF, hid HIMSELF from God’s presence, and upon hearing God’s voice was afraid and ashamed of his own nakedness. Adam’s nakedness didn’t change God’s mind about Adam, Adam changed His mind about God. He now saw God as a judge of good and evil rather than a loving Father. God never even considered Adam’s sin and asked him “who told you that you were naked?” in other words “who told that you sinned?” It wasn’t God who saw Adam as naked, he was always naked! It was Adam who saw Adam as naked. Adam didn’t lose His sonship, he lost his mind! God never intended for us to relate to Him in terms of good and evil or right and wrong. When we do we judge ourselves and as a result see God as judging us. We were designed to walk innocently with God whether we are clothed or not. Don’t eat from the wrong tree. Pursue life and truth and love and the fruit of it will be all good.
Adam Was Up To Know Good
